I was initially disappointed when I saw how thin the sheets were, thinking they would not prevent the Master brand alcohol markers that I use with this drawing pad wanted to bleed through. The paper didn't feel as thick as another brand I've previously bought as a gift for my son. Then I noticed that the back of each sheet looked shinier than the front, I figured it must be a special coating. I drew Spiderman to test it. The paper worked great with pencil, ink, alcohol based markers and white ink gel pen for final touches. I've included a picture of the back to show what the bleed through looks like, but to my surprise no ink touched the next page. I was really amazed. I am very happy with this sketchbook and glad I bought a double pack.
