A bit noisy but in my opinion this system outperforms the portables I've used so far. And while FoodSaver "recommends" you use their proprietary bags, I've used my old zippered vacuum bags with this system and it works great with them. FoodSaver cans are sealed and fully transparent. The plan is to add a larger canister (ideal for marinating) to the supplied two-piece set. Over time it will be necessary to ensure the durability of this system, but for a modest price this seems like a good gamble.
