I've been thinking about buying one of those new mop bucket systems that rinse and wipe a reusable pad on the go. They cost between $40 and $100. I've been using a regular Swifter mop and disposable pads for years, but I'm slowly trying to cut back on disposables and buy more compostable/biodegradable products. Also try to use less toxic chemicals in our cleaning products and learn that they are much cheaper and easier to make and work just as well. I stumbled across these reusable pads (3 of them for $16) and thought heeeee this might work! I tried this mopping pad today with my homemade floor cleaner (2 cups warm distilled water, 1/2 cup white vinegar). , 1/4 cup rubbing alcohol, 3 drops pure liquid castile soap Mix together and pour into a spray bottle). Sprayed the underside of the carpet with floor cleaner to wet it, then sprayed the floor here and there as I walked. The mop worked great! There were no stains in the kitchen, there were no more stains. It fits snugly and snugly on the Swifter mop I already had. No more disposable pads and smelly chemicals! Oooh! When I was done I took the pad off and washed it in the sink with regular dish soap, wringed it out and let it dry outside for a while. Like new and ready to drive again. It was machine washable but it was so easy and quick. They seem to be very nicely made. Happy with my purchase. Three pads should last a long time!
