Works great, managed to download old IDE hard drives straight away that I haven't accessed since 1999. All working discs have been successfully downloaded. I was so lucky to find old photos of my wife and dog from over ten years ago and some other data from the late 90's from a friend of mine who lost his copies decades ago. Pros: Easy to use, just insert the disc, plug in the power adapter and connect the USB to the computer and turn it on. Windows will recognize the drive (if it still works, some of mine were old and I wasn't sure if they still worked and this device proves what I thought). The hard drives even kept the partition names I laughed at 20 years ago when naming my hard drive partitions. Cons: Inserting IDE drives can be tricky, requiring you to match the power connector as not all drives are physically the same size, but that's not entirely the device's fault. I just wish it had a clear window so I can see the connections making it easier to insert a disc. Works great overall, easy to use just a little fiddly to insert without being able to see the contactors when inserting IDE drives. . There's also a slot for SATA drives, but I haven't used it yet. Insertion looks much easier since all drives are the same size and there is no need to adjust the position of the power pins. I would recommend this device to anyone who needs to extract data from old hard drives without having to open and install anything. .
