The top is not metal, but plastic. Terribly overpriced for what it is.
This honey dispenser looked good and although it was a lot more expensive than I thought I gave it a try as we desperately needed a honey dispenser that didn't flow. I bought this one because it said the lid was metal. It is not. It's definitely plastic. The glass also looks cheap, cloudy and bought. I would argue that the quality of this item shouldn't cost more than $10, but $35 is definitely too much to pay for an item of this quality. Very disappointed to have to waste time returning it when the description lies - it says "heavy polished chrome cover". It should be called chromed plastic.
