Not safe for use with 18650 batteries unless they have built in protection. This flashlight does NOT have undercharge protection. Meaning if you use your 18650 batteries in it until they die, then they are dead dead and you won't be able to recharge them. That's IF they don't catch fire fist. undercharging 18650 batteries is just as dangerous as overcharging them and can lead to an unstable cell that will catch fire! It is rare, but it does happen. I have also noticed that during just typical use, the flashlight will get hot from discharging the 18650. They need to revise their led circuit to include a cut off voltage at 3v so that it doesn't damage 18650 batteries.
