Not suitable for bicycle shift cable housing

Bought as a replacement for bicycle shift cables. He was able to cut through the internal cable, but the jaws of the cable body were so far apart that the cable was pinched and slipped between the jaws of the cable cutter. Tightening the screw holding the jaws together didn't help (perhaps because it wasn't holding). As other reviewers have noted, the plastic grips slip off and the spring is too short to open the jaws to cut through the cable's jacket.
