This camera is great because it's easy enough for him to use, but it looks simple enough for him to feel like a big kid, not just a big clumsy one Piece of plastic 2 or 3 years old like other cameras I've seen for kids. He might drop it sometimes, but since it was hanging on a string, he didn't drop it at all on our last trip. The biggest disadvantage seems to be the short battery life. I had to charge it beforehand every day so it could take pictures on vacation. He found the games and enjoyed them, but it also took a toll on his battery. The shots aren't great, nor is the zoom, but for the price he's happy and he feels like a big kid with his older sisters snapping shots to hang out with.
