I was shocked that one of the two spikes broke immediately on the first test landing - judging by how the fracture surface looks like a cheap "metal pan". That concerns. I'd barely squeezed the lever when I was still setting the nut in its final position before actually applying force to the skewer. I'm not one to overtighten and this is clearly a manufacturing defect. I'm glad it didn't happen right away, and NOT while I was on my trainer, which would have been a minor disaster, or worse, on the road, which could have been disastrous and dangerous.
