Review on πŸ’§ Efficient Water Filtration with DuPont WFPF38001C Universal Valve Filtration by Michael Keitt

Revainrating 2 out of 5

Q: How many PTFE tapes do you need? A: .more.

I had to run and repeat a dual filter setup with these three times (one new from Revain, one used) to stop any leaks at the 3/4" inlets/outlets. On the first try I used standard 3-4 turns of PTFE tape, clockwise as usual. Lick like crazy. Cut off all PEX clamps and pre-made piping around the filter housings. On my second try after reading these reviews I used 12 extra turns of PTFE tape on each. 3 out of 4 were still leaking but slowly. They cut off all the PEX clamps and remade the piping around the filter housings. AGAIN. Bought a new pack of PEX clamps (because I needed them) and got a roll of blue PTFE tape which was 4 times the price of the stock tape. I wound sixteen turns on the new and TWENTY turns on the new used. FINALLY there are no leaks and gear stays in place without overloading. Bracket not included. The bracket fits between the 3/4" cap and the housing. The bypass is difficult to move. I want these filter housings to please. The good features about them are the transparent housing and the vent valve. But the loose tolerances cost me too much wasted time, effort and money to give it just over 2/5 stars.
