So, like a lot of people said, this thing ran a little at the water outlet at first. BUT! I did a few extra turns (8-10) of tape and there was no leak. Holds tight and above all I have water pressure again. I would say for the price it's worth it. Just take a look. The flow rate is only 5 gallons per hour and I love a powerful shower. so I can add another of these to the mix or update. But if you don't mind a medium-sized shower, good water pressure, and an overall great setup, this is for you.

Pros
  • I always liked it
Cons
  • I won't say anything

There is the best for water filtration and softening

I bought this product thinking it would be good quality because of the Dupont name. Well, it's not the greatest. The o-ring is difficult to seal properly, and sometimes it leaks a little even with a new o-ring. Today I wanted to change the filter and the key to remove the filter broke. I could probably use a strap wrench to remove the filter, but I'm afraid I might break the unit and then I'll have to replace it with something immediately. I'll try to find a better block that doesn't have these

Anyone who buys this filter. The threaded holes are too big. 2 bought and installed. All 4 holes are leaking. For the second install I removed and used teflon tape and pipe grease. I made 8 turns of tape and applied sealant over the tape. This prevented further leakage. These are good units, but a design flaw needs to be fixed or they will get a bad reputation. I'm a licensed master plumber so I knew what to do. If a plumber with an hourly license performed the installation, the property owner…

Q: How many PTFE tapes do you need? A: .more.

I had to run and repeat a dual filter setup with these three times (one new from Revain, one used) to stop any leaks at the 3/4" inlets/outlets. On the first try I used standard 3-4 turns of PTFE tape, clockwise as usual. Lick like crazy. Cut off all PEX clamps and pre-made piping around the filter housings. On my second try after reading these reviews I used 12 extra turns of PTFE tape on each. 3 out of 4 were still leaking but slowly. They cut off all the PEX clamps and remade the piping…

By-pass valve contamination and I/O thread leaks

In my opinion, this product has two very serious problems of workmanship and design. 1) the bypass valve is clogged with blue plastic shavings (flavor issue) and 2) the inlet and outlet threads are leaking (plumbing issue). The thread design may not sufficiently consider the properties of plastic injection molding. In my opinion, the chief engineer is to blame for this drop in product quality and likewise all ISO quality certifications should be revoked pending investigation and corrective…
