Overall the material seems to be holding up. I just received them and washed them once. The most obvious thing about them is that they are definitely not what I would call "soft". They're not hard, but they're not soft either. They're not bad if you put them in a soft pillowcase. However, I spent hours looking for pillowcases and I'm pretty happy with what I got, especially since I needed 4. They are NOT noisy either, which is a plus. So consider them decent enough, but wait for the dreamy soft stuff. Someone else said they weren't as soft as the Egyptian cotton they had before and that was my impression too.
