The pump hums heavily. This is usually caused by the presence of air in the system after installation that needs to be removed. Before removing the old pump, the old power steering oil was removed. A new pump was installed and the air was removed by priming the system according to the manufacturer's instructions. Still a noticeable squeak so the logs for the vacuum process followed again. Same result. Most likely it is not a new pump but a refurbished pump, which is often the case with refurbished units. Better buy a new one and don't forget how to properly install and bleed the system. I will send back
