It worked great accept with loud sounds

I was worried it could be the stereo or the output ir cable. I replaced all, it only happened on few movies but once I heard it on two I had to return because it's bad, interview with the vampire on Netflix 1:36hrs in. It seems great accept for this, but I heard it loud crackling about 5 tines in this and another. I wanted to believe it was an error on my part and maybe something with the tv, but pcm is flat no volume control sadly either, so I can't see how it's something other than the gain on device.
