Don't use the included screws

Overall quality is decent. They are about 1/4 inch deep (not measured with a ruler, just by eye). I bought to replace some cheap vinyl numbers that were installed by a contractor and were beginning to crack due to exposure to lots of direct sunlight. See photo. So far, the numbers have been installed for six months. The numbers were pretty expensive, so here's my longevity plan... Throw away the screws that came with the numbers. They're just painted and starting to rust. The screwdriver removes the paint from the screws by simply screwing the numbers into place. I replaced the original screws with brass screws (no rust). The brass screws aren't black, but that's my compromise. If you want to use brass screws or original screws, drill pilot holes first. Brass is softer than steel and the steel screws provided are not of the best quality. How long does the color last on the numbers? Good question. If the paint begins to fade or oxidize, the numbers can simply be peeled off and painted on while screwed on. A can of good quality spray paint and a clear coat, when used properly, can extend the life of the original paint. If you're really picky about corrosion, paint both sides of the numbers.
