Schrade and Smith and Wesson (Taylor Brands llc) serrated knives are the worst as they started manufacturing but stopped halfway through. Good if you want to scratch, but if you want to cut something, good luck. The smooth edge is acceptable and snaps securely, it would be nice to have :/ I bought 2 and the other had the same story. Save your money and avoid these brands. Do your own research on knife brands before you delve into knives as there are some reasonably priced items available from reputable companies. I'll try to fix the jagged edge but that might be more trouble than it's worth as I have other multi-bladed knives now. Lesson learned.
