This toaster worked great for several weeks after purchase. But then he started not toasting properly. The toast gets hot, but the heating elements don't get red enough to toast the toast. I decided to unscrew the block a week ago to see what was going on before throwing it away. I found the wire connections to the switches and heaters to be very loose. I can take some of them off without holding them. One was completely black from what appeared to be an arc. Solution: I removed all the connectors and crimped them firmly before reconnecting them. I sanded down the one that was black to make the metal shiny again. After reassembling, the toaster can finally make a good piece of toast again. For the price, you might not want to do DYI fixes. But if you decide to get it, it can be repaired to make it work well.
