The charger itself appears to be in good condition but there are doubts about the cable in the kit and I would recommend buying a separate cable. A few months ago I noticed that my phone (Pixel XL) got very hot around the charging port after plugging it into the charger with the cable that came with it. When I unplugged it, the plug itself was very hot and I also noticed that the phone doesn't say it's charging. For the next two days I had trouble charging my phone regardless of the charger but the problem went away so I didn't think about it too much. Fast forward a little and it will happen again, but this time when I unplug the included cable, there's a visible strip of melted plastic or rubber between my phone or its case and the cable. At this point I stopped using the charger with the cable that came with it, as I saw that the inside of the plug had been damaged by heat. Also, my phone now only charges when the USB-C cable is plugged in a certain orientation regardless of the charger or cable, defeating the purpose of the balanced connector. I've since replaced the included cable with a Google USB-C cable and haven't had any issues with extreme heat since. While this could be due to a number of factors, the fact that this only happens with this charger + the cable that came with it leads me to believe the problem is with the cable. I will update this review if this happens again.
