Review on 🖥️ Enhanced ATEN 4-Port USB 2.0 DVI KVMP Switch (CS1764A) by Dan Davis

I don't write many product reviews but when I was looking for a new KVM my main requirement was that it work with my Logitech K800 wireless backlit keyboard which I'm glad to be able to say that it is so! There are some other "features" although they are a bit annoying and leave me wanting more. Here are the pros and cons: Pros: 1. Works with Logitech K800 backlit keyboard! 2. ATEN's technical support is excellent3. DVI/Audio support Cons:1. Switching is a little slow (about 5-7 seconds before I get a response from the keyboard or mouse) after the display appears.2. Power on detection function wakes up a sleeping computer3. Mouse emulation doesn't support more than a 3-button mouse (the forward and back buttons don't work unless you disable mouse emulation and make it a USB pass-through), making switching times even longer. Feature" allows the KVM to automatically switch from a powered off device to a currently powered on device. This feature is ANNOYING - for example, if you put your computer to sleep, it wakes up again when KVM automatically switches to a new port. I have a powered laptop dock that the switch always thinks is on even when the laptop attached to it is off and automatically falls back to that port.I got a workaround for this - to avoid waking the computer again disable when I receive mouse or keyboard input but then I can't wake up again when I really want to through those devices I've looked at that or the IOGear 4 port but even IOGear tech support said my keyboard support was questionable as they usually don't support wireless keyboards/mouse I'm glad there ss my keyboard works with it, but I hope that a new firmware will come out. The rework gives you the option to disable this power-on detection feature, and mouse emulation supports using more mouse buttons. The technical support staff were very responsive and their explanations were helpful.
