I had pretty high hopes for them and installed them in various start and end points on my dust collector. I have 8 double threaded and 4 non-threaded versions of this blast gate that I use throughout my system. I made sure to support them properly - they are firmly attached to wooden supports, properly welded to a 4" pipe which is then securely fastened to prevent any movement (to avoid breaking the seal etc). Silicone seals the seams. on the outside of the explosion-proof door as well as the seal between the door and the air duct, all of which either get stuck in the door's closing path (so that it can no longer be fully closed) or simply fall completely apart (cracks on the edges).
