Two thumbs up from this avid Ironman cyclist and triathlete. I've tried all types of energy drinks over the years and have always reverted to plain drinking water because I couldn't see the difference. However, last fall a friend gave me Alter+Fire to try out. At the time, I spent about 8 hours on a 26-hour bike ride called "Everesting," where a person attempts to scale the height of Everest (28,000 feet), repeatedly climbing the same hill in a continuous effort. After filling my bottle with fire, I noticed a significant boost in strength and energy, which thankfully lasted long enough for me to climb not just 28,000 feet, but more than 35,000 feet in 26 hours. Surely the training allowed such a feat, but I definitely noticed the rise from the fire. I have since bought my own Alter+Fire and used it before training runs (10,000 miles last year) and have again noticed a significant increase in both alertness and performance. As a doctor and mom, I am extremely knowledgeable about the nutritional values and ingredients of everything in our pantry, so I was pleased to see a breakdown of the ingredients and nutrients. I usually avoid artificial sweeteners, but if I find anything acceptable, it's stevia. Guarana is a great non-jittery stimulant, and the balance of creatine (which can boost performance during high-intensity workouts) and other low-sugar ingredients is very beneficial. The only negative I've noticed is that if I leave it in a water bottle for too long before drinking, the aftertaste makes me uncomfortable. Easily avoided by drinking it as soon as I mix it with water. In summary, highly recommended.
