Review on New Canon EF-S 18-135mm f/3.5-5.6 IS Standard Zoom Lens for Canon DSLR Cameras (White Box) by Hideo Ebara ᠌

Didn't quite buy it well, had a little trouble using it.

I took it with Canon 550D, based on reviews and photos on the Internet. I am engaged in tourism, so more stringent operating conditions were assumed. Lenses with dust and moisture protection were not considered due to the price. The first campaign withstood with honor. My biggest fear was the dust. A speck of dust made its way to the matrix, although the lens was not removed. Everything inside the lens is clean. In general, I am satisfied. A good combination of price, quality and versatility. Everything that is better costs several times more immediately. For shooting architecture and interiors, the angle, of course, is small, but you can use it, with the obligatory correction of distortions in the editor. Suitable for portraits (from 24mm). Normally blurs the background, but needs good light. Landscapes, in my opinion, are generally excellent. If there is not enough light, you can use a tripod. It also copes with sports shooting, autofocus is in time. When shooting at short shutter speeds or from a tripod, it is better to turn off the stabilizer, the pictures are sharper. For an amateur with a limited budget, this is a very good option. It's all about comparison. Bought a Canon 70-200 f/4 L USM as an add-on for sports photography. I tried . Now I don’t want to put my native in place at all. I will sell and save money for Canon EF 24-105 mm f/4L IS USM.

Pros
  • Price; universal range of focal lengths; fairly fast autofocus; not heavy; stabilizer.
Cons
  • The backlash of the trunk is quite large, it leaves when walking; 18 mm barrel, I try not to use this distance; dark, you can shoot people indoors only with an external flash, even the built-in one is not enough.
