These tungsten carbide markers are very well made. Each came with a protective vinyl cap over the pre-installed marker tip. Don't throw away this tip! This is a definite plus as it helps prevent damage to the tip during storage or when clipping to a pocket. Marker nibs are held securely in the grip by a collet, so you don't have to worry about the nib falling out. To replace or remove the tip, simply unscrew the sheath (coupling nut) that surrounds the tip and pull the tip straight out of the collet. The collet already has a slight friction fit, so the tip of the scriber may not come out easily. If this is the case, you may need to hold the end of the bar over the collet and gently twist or "wiggle" it slightly to make it come out much easier. Brute force is not required as you will damage the collet. On the packaging you will find some general tips on using the scriber to cut glass or mark on metal etc. It is good to know that you will get the best results if you hold the scriber at a 45 degree angle during use . I can see some people having trouble figuring it out on their own, so that's an added plus. The 4 extra markers are packed in a separate "bag" so do not throw them away with the packaging and keep them. to a place where you won't forget to put them down. <GRIN> Now I keep them in a little plastic box and keep them with the rest of these markers and my other glass cutters. I am happy with my purchase and expect them to do a lot of good.
