When I got this I couldn't believe how thick it was. About the size of an orange extension cord - they were close together and I didn't know which was which. My dog has muscles like Popeye and I'm not worried about breaking them. And not only the cable is strong. The metal fasteners and clips are really thick and strong. Many cables on the market are durable, but look for cheap hardware. It's not the cable that fails. It's thick heavy metal. Too heavy for a small dog! This is for dogs over 50 pounds or whose neck is not strong enough to support the weight. The only thing I don't like is the clip style. It works exceptionally well but is awkward to put on and take off if your dog itches out. whatever is.
