This is an upgrade for an old Linksys adapter. It probably only took 5 minutes to get back up and running with a solid and reliable connection. **Tip: Uninstall old adapter software. Every morning when I turned on my computer, I had to use the WPS button to re-secure the connection. It shouldn't be necessary. Sometimes I had to reboot multiple times in the morning to connect. I finally realized that I forgot to uninstall my old Linksys adapter software. If both worked, TP-Link would not maintain a connection when the computer was off. After I uninstalled the Linksys software, TP-Link was able to maintain a secure connection without having to use the WPS button every morning.
