Review on 🔧 Rugged Ridge 11116.21 Hood Catch Kit, Silver - Compatible with 2018-Current Jeep Wrangler and Gladiator Models by Riley Skeet

Like any Jeep owner, I was disappointed with hood chatter. After some research I narrowed my choices down to a Jeep JL hood latch and a Rugged Ridge hood latch kit. The JL version requires some modifications (drilling and painting) to be installed. The rugged Ridge hood latch fits standard holes for easy alignment. I definitely recommend removing at least part of the front grille. It takes less than a minute (anyone can do it) and you have easy access to the nuts with a standard wrench. It may take more than one attempt to align the upper and lower hood latches. On the one hand I succeeded the first time, on the other hand it required another attempt. I saw a video on youtube that talked about the improvement in gas mileage after replacing the stock JK hood latches. Oddly, I'm seeing a 0.5mpg improvement with the same fuel type and speed on my Rubicon Hardrock Edition JKU with these installed. This can be an accident and not everyone will see an improvement, but it will definitely stop the hood flapping.
