I like basic laptop stands and found them secure enough. The stance is solid but hands require a lot of pressure to move up and down. I've been looking for set screws or something, but they're just there - and very tight. On the other hand, it keeps my laptop in place - which is fine with me. I don't budge it up and down so I really only had to reattach it once. But if you plan on being able to wave it up, down, back and forth throughout the day, you'll be sad to adopt.
