I've tried everything to keep my plants alive. They didn't even do anything about the ammonia in my water or the nitrates. I've tried other fertilizers but my plants just withered away in a few days. I used FlorinMulti and in just one day my nitrate levels started to drop. It went from 40 ppm to about 15 in just half a day. I don't know why my plants didn't go to ammonia at all. But this is a good start! FlorinMulti protects plants. I was skeptical based on some bad reviews but that's probably because it can only save or support your plants and not make them thrive like other more expensive things. Edit: I noticed that after a few weeks of using this product, my plants turned brown. . Then my ghost shrimp also started to turn white and die. I've read on expert fish farming forums that adding iodine to help crustaceans shed is a myth. That it's a toxin and that's why crustacean farmers use it to make crabs and the like molt. My guess is that the iodine and other elements in the product have started to accumulate to toxic levels. A 50% water change and killing the product resulted in my plants turning green again and no more ghost shrimp dying (they don't turn white either, but are still shedding). Reduced this from 5 to 2 stars.
