Straight out of the box It was an easy install . Simple hardware on/off button and eject button on the front panel. Power light is good. The ability to turn off the power on the back of the device is very useful later. This is where functionality becomes a problem. On the home screen, the device sometimes has trouble connecting to premium channel providers. I'm stuck in an endless loop from home page to premium channel provider and back to home page. I bought two devices and they both do the same thing. Youtube often freezes and sometimes returns to the home page after an ad, so you have to go back to the premium channel providers menu to find what you were re-watching. Sometimes instead of going to the home screen, it just shows a white screen. At this point, you need to press the home button to return to the main menu. Sometimes when watching something on Youtube, Netflix or Amazon it freezes and refuses to leave the frame. The device doesn't move out of frame or even turn off, so it's good to be able to turn off the power on the back of the device here. You don't have to fumble for a power plug in the outlet to unplug and reset the device, although I don't think that should be taken as a good selling point. The lack of software updates to fix these issues is a bummer. The current version appears to have been written by a high school student. It's not worth more than a hundred dollars a piece.
