I'm a woman and I love Goofy so I took a chance. I am 5ft 2ft between M/L. I chose L in case they get smaller. I would probably agree with M. They might reduce the tic, but not noticeably. I washed it in cold water, put it in the dryer for a few minutes before letting the line dry. They're naturally long, but have a semi-tapered leg so they stay at ankle height in socks or slippers. This is a good quality soft cotton - many fabrics with so many colors can be stiff. It's a good weight for the summer months when you're looking for light coverage, or in the winter when you're running warm I think. The pattern is cute and unique. It has button placket. Glad I ordered!
