This is a great idea for not so typical situations. I put a lock on the back door and once it was installed everything was fine. But those of you who have gates and only regular latches know how heat, cold and humidity can cause gates to sag severely and make locking difficult. This has happened to my gate, so much so that I had to struggle to lift the gate to latch the latch. If you have a gate, you also know how difficult it can be to adjust it as it changes with the weather. Anyway, I found this record, ordered it and it's great. There is enough room for the latch to slide without resistance no matter how much the gate changes. This became very important as I had to have back surgery and won't be able to open the gate until I'm well in a few months. If you want to solve the problem of the constantly moving gates, this is what you need. A little embarrassed that the shipping was more than the product but it was worth it in the end.
