This is a very portable barcode scanner. Bluetooth pairing with Android works great, although on some phones you may need to turn the setting back on to see the onscreen keyboard, as it disappears when the scanner is active. As other reviewers have noted, unless you're working in low light, you have to use the QR code to turn off the LED backlight. It would be nice if the details page had a PDF manual with QR codes and barcodes for switching features/settings so you could open it on your phone and scan it immediately or print it out and have it handy. Now if you're scanning barcodes that are themselves on a sticker or in a book with a barcode, no problem, it's very fast. However, if you need to scan multiple barcodes that are close together on a label or box (network devices, things with multiple serial numbers, mac addresses, part numbers, SKUs, model numbers, etc.), you're better off using the regular manual. This one shines with a small red square light that hits or misses even after a lot of practice. You may need to use something to block adjacent barcodes, for example in an area of about 3" x 3" it will select one or the other. Horizontal red light USB handhelds are very intuitive to use and position, and scan what you need better when there are multiple barcodes. Also, this Bluetooth is really good for scanning individual barcodes when there is only one at a time. If you keep the scanner in your bag, accidentally pressing the button will turn it on. never mind It rarely happens, but it does happen. I initially liked this device a lot for scanning individual barcodes, but not so much after I found out it wasn't designed for "accurate" scanning. In some cases, only partial codes were scanned, resulting in barcodes being quite small. I've tried the same barcodes multiple times and very rarely done a partial scan, so I'd say it's reasonably reliable and accurate for small barcodes. No problems I could tell with regular sized barcodes. I haven't tried making many QR codes yet. This scanner was only used for a test to inventory Aruba Wi-Fi Access Points as the boxes they came in had about 12 barcodes each. If you look at pictures of Cisco switch power supply boxes or similar items, you'll see what I mean by a few little barcodes.
