I have been using the Otterbox Defender with belt clip for over 10 years now. What I don't like about the belt clip is that it's bulky and I break it once a year. You're going to inevitably get stuck on something, and that's a weak link between me and what it's stuck on, so break it. Otterbox needs to figure out how to get it working, but until then I will continue to purchase a replacement. I use Otterbox Defender cases because my phones look like new in 4-6 years. I drop my phone like everyone else, but my phone doesn't break.
