Review on Ridgid 26998 COMPANY GIDDS 813353 Machine by Chris Martin

I have a pair of Ridgid Stilson keys that have never given me any problems. I bought this car even though it costs almost twice as much as a competitor's car because I wanted something reliable and with good support. When it arrived, the K-400 was missing the bolt that attaches the drum shaft to the frame. Ridgid posts a diagram of an obsolete part showing a different shaft attached with a nut and the bolt is not in their parts database. With some help from a designated support rep, I found the correct screw at a hardware store (1/2" - 20 x 3/4"). Although the box was sealed from the factory, it did not include the T-260 tool set (bits) that Ridgid later supplied. I had to remove the drive belt cover to deal with the squeaky idle. The hood is attached to the frame with thin plastic flanges that slide apart when the screws are tightened. The paint is thin and scratches easily. There is no suitable place to store tools. Sloppy assembly, cheap construction, and a poorly trained support system point to Emerson managers and directors who have likely never used a tool in their lives. seemed to work pretty well although I didn't have anything difficult to try on. OK, but an example of a company resting on its laurels.
