Review on ๐ŸŒž Efficient 60W Foldable Solar Panel Charger for Suaoki Portable Generator/Jackery Explorer 240/OKPRO 500W Portable Power Station - Ideal Solar Charger for Summer Camping Van RV with 2 USB Ports by Deelo Sylvester

Revainrating 4 out of 5

I'm really liking this 60w panel from OKPRO at the moment

I took it outside to my garden to keep my phone and bluetooth speaker charged/unplugged while I work and listen to music/videos etc. . So far, so good. Seems to charge the phone at the same rate as plugging it into an outlet. No complaints so far - it feels solid and well built, pleasantly surprised by the build quality for the price. It has two plastic buckles on the front to keep it closed when carried by the integrated handle, they are not your standard. sort of a buckle, not that intuitive to use but it does the job and while less intuitive I think it gives it a more finished/smooth look than a regular buckle. The bright orange accents on the fabric part are a nice touch. Personally, I care less about the looks than the function of the device, but I mention it for those who value aesthetics. Until I tried hanging it with grommets I only used it on the floor. The legs/supports feel comfortable, the angle seems optimal to get as much sun as possible. I faced the array south and as I mentioned charging/maintaining my phone and bluetooth speaker was no problem. I will say that it is a bit difficult to open the legs and put them on at the same time, the other end is closed, but if you got that right, it's not bad at all. You'll need to slide the small strip of fabric up and out of the way when you're ready to fold them back or it will block the velcro and won't close, so just slide this fabric up and between the boot and foot and it will do it with no problems stay closed. (see pictures) They give you lots of connection options with several different cables to connect to different things including car batteries (clamps). A bunch of connectors of different sizes etc. They seem to cover pretty much everything. Haven't had a chance to test this with my portable power station to see how it performs when charging, but hopefully I'll get to it soon and update when I do. When considering buying this device I looked at several others and the device that was comparable in price and performance had a much larger folded dimension than this one so I chose this device due to the smaller footprint but it seems to work as expected, even with the smaller form factor - which is what I wanted. It's not super heavy, but heavy enough that you won't want to take it on a hike. Ideal for car camping or kayak camping (dry bag of course). The only thing I would add is that when the panel is on the floor and resting on its legs, it's quite difficult to get to the USB ports. / 12v socket (see pics) - I would suggest plugging in the USB cable before setting it up unless it's on something raised or suspended that may help access the ports. It took me longer than it should to connect the cables after setting it up.

Pros
  • Good product for its price
Cons
  • So-so
