Good cheap alternative to the hard to find DualShock 3

I know I'm in the minority here, but I still use my PS3 occasionally. One DualShock controller died completely for me, and the other is slowly dying. So I was looking for a suitable companion/replacement for my remaining DS. The problem is that in 2020 it's pretty hard to find an unopened OG DS3 that costs at least $50. There is a used market, but I can always risk that the controller is also dead. So I went the third party route. Mind you, it's no better since it's a 'different quality' country, but at least I have a higher chance of being able to return an item due to a 'defect'. Now I've been burned by manufacturers before. I've bought controllers that cost as little as $10 when the battery dies or dies on arrival, six axes have little or no response, and I've had controllers that didn't have 16-point joysticks. direction (resulting in a not-so-smooth movement). At the moment I'm working with 2 3rd party controllers: this one and the white one which doesn't have 6 axis and only 8 direction points. Priced as close as possible to the old DS3 in terms of features and quality. I can't say that every device works the way I have it, but I'm happy with it. Sixaxis works well. The rumble is active and feels just as good as it did on the DS3. Better than the DS3, it has curved triggers and slightly stiffer sticks more akin to the DS4. Battery life has yet to be determined, but the controller I received was charged and had enough power after 50 minutes of play. The only thing I don't like about this controller is the protruding D-pad and face buttons. This lets me know I'm definitely clicking on them, but they don't seem that comfortable. This is especially true for fighting games. The D-Pad doesn't facilitate smooth circular or semi-circular movements for games that require it. like Street Fighter, Tekken and even MK. Otherwise a good controller, as long as the manufacturer pays attention to consistent quality. One thing I haven't tested and will update (for those who need to know) is a pressure sensitive feature on the controller. Keys. Not all games require this feature, but some like MGS5, Gran Turismo, and Wipeout do. If this controller has that, it's a win for the price!
