They generate a lot of heat
The elements get very hot, enough to burn you. They will take a few minutes to come up to temperature and probably about ten minutes to cool down as well. This gives fairly even heating when connected to a thermostat. I use two of these in a 15ft2 rabbit hutch and they work great.
