This lock was needed for a MacBook so I ordered it along with the Blade universal lock which is needed for a Mac. This code lock does not accept a new combination. DO NOT CONNECT TO THE LAPTOP AFTER CHANGING THE FACTORY COMBINATION. Try resetting the combo first and do lots of testing before connecting. CompuLock was very supportive and sent a new build, but exactly the same problem occurred with the new lock. After changing the combination, the lock no longer works. I've worked with dozens of desktop locks over the years and I've never had this kind of trouble. Decided to stick with the old traditional Kensington key lock. It's bulletproof and works great. I really like this cable lock as it is slim, takes up little space and is easy to use on the desk, especially when traveling. I'm sorry to have to write a negative review.
