Not really suitable for climbing

Ice bands, very important for safety. Really important. More than a million Americans are injured by slips and falls each year, more in the winter and some fatally. A few observations: 1. Very thin rubber band. I have a number of Yaktraks to compare and nowhere near. Longevity is yet to be seen, but only in a solid construction, it doesn't seem built to last.2. The boots fell off in a few easy steps, so a spare bag is included. This is the most important find because, well, security. I can't imagine walking safely in it and walking requires great care. The cleats are only held in place by a shallow groove around the cleat, which is only held in place by a hole in the thin rubber of the sole. Any lateral force or torque, or just slipping the shoe will absolutely cause the cleat to fall out. It is not acceptable to drop at least one boot from a set of ice axes.3. Doesn't really cover the entire sole of your shoe, even with the right size. The heel is fully open and requires some adjustments just to center the cleats. And in the middle they raise the shoe so much that you really rock on it. They are actually small for the listed size, so if you buy them, go up a size. There are far better products that you can trust - the main issues with this product are not quality control but basic design issues. As with all safety precautions, don't buy a cheap life jacket, a cheap fire extinguisher, or a cheap ice ax. Cheap is not always profitable. Adding extra boots as a spare is like having a spare parachute ready for you on the ground in case the first one doesn't open. On a scale of unacceptable, poor, fair, good and excellent, they are unacceptable and, in my opinion, unsafe for their intended use. I have changed my rating due to additional usage and do not recommend this product.
