Review on ๐Ÿฎ Kira Home Cambridge Swing Arm Wall Lamp 2-Pack | Plug in/Wall Mount, 3-Way Switch, Cord Covers | Black Finish, Latte Mocha Shade by Mark Bullock

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Poor wall mounting method, lightweight product for the price.

This lamp was purchased to replace a broken swing arm lamp. Wall mounting uses a mounting plate designed to be used with a ceiling mounted junction box. To use it you would have to drill three holes in the wall (mine is a wooden post). I would never mount a lamp this way and was willing to go to the hardware store to buy a better mounting plate, but first after checking I found that the old lamp mounting plate, although slightly larger, can be adjusted to accommodate the lamp to mount. and I did that and didn't have to do any new work on the wall. The channels for hiding the cable look kinda chunky and clunky so I didn't use them. With more stylish lights like this one, the cable is placed in a metal tube that hangs on the wall. My old lamp had one but I couldn't figure out how to reuse it. The lamp looks ok on the wall and I can live with the fact that the cable just hangs there. I didn't find the hands too stiff and it works well. For the price I expected a more solid build quality. The lamp is just as dim as the lamps you can get elsewhere for half the price or less and the lampshade is adequate but not high quality. I probably wouldn't buy it again but I had to replace an old lamp and it was similar in size and style and served its purpose so I'm not entirely dissatisfied. I would rate it lower if I actually had to purchase additional hardware to install it properly without ruining the wall.

Pros
  • Ideal for outdoor activities
Cons
  • Diffused lamp
