Works well but gets stuck after a while

Latch works well for a drawer in my van. I use it for a small drawer fridge. This keeps it closed while driving. In the beginning it worked great. Then after about a month it started to stick and wouldn't snap into place unless played with. I took it off and smeared it with white grease. Has been working great for about 2 months. Now it keeps crashing again and again. It is hoped that this is just a defective block.
