
My current computer doesn't have a parallel port so I used my Laserjet 4000 with a USB parallel adapter. The print speed for text documents was ok, but PDFs and documents with lots of graphics took forever to get to the printer. The printer had been a reliable workhorse for over fifteen years and I hated getting rid of it, but I needed more speed. I bought this JetDirect 620n to extend the life of my printer and avoid the expense of a new laser printer. I'm very glad I did this. Setup was easy; I installed the card, plugged in the network cable, and opened the Add New Printer dialog box. My computer found the printer, I pressed YES and that was it. Now large and small files start writing almost before I hit the start button. I am completely satisfied with this product.
