It would be easier to sharpen pencils with a butter knife. The first pencil I put in my pocket immediately broke into pieces. Not too sharp, completely broken, almost half of the pencil turned into a coarse mulch. After thoroughly cleaning the parts, I tried another pen, this time VERY slowly and carefully. It reached about a half-pointed state before suddenly eating the pen again. On about the tenth try (I'm an artist and I'll be damned if I can't use a basic pencil sharpener) my wife asked me to call the project a failure and just buy another pencil sharpener. Almost impossible to clean when something gets stuck (and something gets stuck every time). This is a razor blade type sharpener so the pencil needs to be lined up precisely, but due to the design this is very difficult. We're sending it back and hopefully buying something that really sharpens pencils.
