When I traded in my old SUV for a new one, I vowed to do everything I could to protect the front end on our 10-hour drive from Georgia to Florida. I've tried other methods including liquid paint and while it helped a bit with the bugs it didn't help much with the rock chips and definitely didn't hold up in the rain. It's been almost a year and I'm still finding parts of the film that need to be removed. I also went the route of using blue tape, which when covered with a layer of tape held up well, but took forever and looked too killer for a family SUV. Luckily I found Track Armor. In short it held up well and fully protected my hood and bumper from whatever the road threw at it! Things that mattered to me: - Protects not only from bugs but also from stone chips - To avoid a sandblasted look on your bumper - Withstands crazy downpours - Other products came off after some water got under the edges - Lightweight to remove, basically a big chunk - Easy to move and can be reattached before the return trip - no tools, no spillage One note - if you try this, and I highly recommend it, don't beat yourself up if it doesn't looks good . While clear and easy to use, it's not easy to pretend nothing is there. Expect it to look like you've put duct tape on the front of your car, SUV, or truck. Just know that keeping your front end as clean and spotless as when you started your journey is more than worth the visual sacrifice.
