Done Excellent

This review is for the Pemenol Bluetooth Amplifier Board. I received the board disassembled in one package. Inside the box were two separate packages, one with the board and the other with the case. Assembling the circuit board was easy, requiring only a Phillips screwdriver. Be careful when assembling as there are no replacement parts and the parts are quite small and easily lost. Once assembled, the device is tiny and conforms to the stated dimensions. Board connections are clearly marked and visible from above or below. I powered the board with an Elenco X-605 DC power supply from 8V-24V and it worked over the full range. Below 8V the speakers are disabled but the board remains connected. I switched to 25V and it still works fine. Above 25V I have not tried. I connected a pair of SA-2012 speakers to both outputs (with my own circuit board removed). The sound was great, I didn't hear any crackling or electrical noises. The maximum output current I could get from these speakers was only 0.5A. There is a single control knob that pauses the music and controls the volume. The handle could have been designed better, but that's not a bad thing. The button can get stuck if you try to adjust the volume while pressing it lightly, which is a common occurrence. There is no switch to turn the device on or off. Bluetooth range and functionality were fine. The connection was easy and automatically reconnected after switching the device off and on again. I was able to get the advertised range of 15m even through a wall or two. Pausing the music on the device also paused it on the phone. The volume can also be adjusted over the phone. The volume control of the phone is independent of the built-in button. Adjusting the built-in knob does not affect the output of the phone and vice versa. Overall I am very satisfied with this device. It's an inexpensive way to listen to music in the garage without having to dock your phone or plug it into the mains.
