Although I've only worked on computers with SSDs for a while, they've always been standard SATA SSDs, which have been limited to a transfer speed of around 550MB/s, which is comparatively poor even when compared to the fastest hard drives with SATA interface is already very fast. However, after researching and watching many video reviews, I decided to give the Crucial P5 a try and I'm very glad I did! As you can see in the two screenshots uploaded, my SATA SSD (Crucial MX500 1TB) reads at around 562MB/s and writes at around 517MB/s. However, when you run the same test on a Crucial P5 NVME SSD, read speeds are around 3500MB/s and write speeds are around 3200MB/s! The increase in speed is not to scale! I am very happy with my purchase!
