Trouble on a good day

I've had this KVM for less than a week. The video seems to be working fine, but so far it has been very problematic with my keyboard and mouse. I'm using an old Logitech keyboard that has been working fine for almost 10 years. Since I have this KVM I have had 4 keyboard failures. 3 times the keyboard fell out when switching inputs. To solve the problem these 3 times I had to unplug the keyboard from the KVM and plug it back in to get it working again. It's fine unless you've hidden the KVM in the back of the server rack like I did, in which case it's annoying. Just recently the keyboard and mouse died while I was working on one of these systems. Basically all the usb functions died but the video still showed up. This time I didn't switch the inputs - it happened by accident. Also plugging and unplugging the keyboard from KVM will not solve the problem. Even disabling KVM doesn't solve the problem. I ended up having to remove the keyboard and mouse from the KVM and plug them directly into the computer. I then turned everything off (computer and KVM) before I could get it working again. I NEVER had a problem with a USB failing on a computer until I connected it to this KVM. I'm about to get KVM back! This is not a professional product and has a number of significant disadvantages. I read some other reviews that said some keyboards and mice don't work well with this KVM. I'll try HP's more versatile keyboard to see if it performs better. If I get other errors, they will come back and I will get another brand. Attention buyers! Oh and one more thing: the LEDs are very bright. This KVM should not be used if you intend to work in the dark. You may need to close the LEDs.
