Version II triggers have been touted as *finally* implementing TTL Flash Value Lock, which lets you meter the scene and then the flash can lock settings for all subsequent shots, regardless of where the metering point is pointing, until flash power lock is disabled in the camera (simply set as a function key on Nikon cameras). This was supposed to work in Model I devices, but it didn't. Version II was supposed to fix this, but it didn't. Without fixing this feature, Version II devices are no different in function/feature from Version I devices. If you don't need flash level lock (which means you should ALWAYS have a metering point in the area you want to capture for each shot), Then buy the Device Version I. The only hope is that YONGNUO will offer a firmware update to solve this problem in the future. I updated my triggers to firmware v1.01. This firmware version does not fix the problem. I sent an email to YONGNUO customer service email address and did not receive a reply. Same thing happened when I sent an email complaining about purchased version I devices. Don't expect support from the manufacturer. Well, complaints aside, triggers do tell stories when you bypass the flash value lock issue. I have four versions of I and wanted to replace two of them with version II. Not sure if I'll keep or return version II in hopes of a future firmware fix as they are no different from the four I already have.
