Works right out of the box and every time with

This (also with 685) was my first non-Nikon flash and everything went surprisingly well. Radio control has been greatly improved through the use of CLS before and depending on line of sight. I haven't had any dropouts, they always work. Will never go to CLS again. The documentation is mediocre, but it's pretty easy to use. No problem, really, and at a great price.

Love my Yongs for Remote Triggers

I love my Yongs! Now I have 8 transceivers and two transmitters. These two are newly built. I think the functionality is the same as the old ones but the mount lock has been updated. This is now a 45 degree twist cap instead of the old screw cap. Never had a problem with my Yongs. The only problem is with the transmitters on my D750, but this problem is due to a design flaw in those cameras and has nothing to do with the Yongs.

Pros
  • Delivery was very fast
Cons
  • There are some nuances

Great trigger, one of the best if you have your own flashes. Caution

shopper1 has taken the time to post a demo 1 start video review about low batteries. probably spent 20 minutes testing the video hardware then setting it up and left a negative 1 star review. It only took him two minutes to read the manual that the trigger uses AA batteries and not the smaller AAA batteries. It's a shame how quickly people spit out negativity

Pros
  • Excellent Design
Cons
  • Succinct Manual

Need a trigger, this is for you.

This is great. There is both an old version and this new version. They both work the same way, but they like the recessed buttons, and attachment to the flash mounts is done with a quick release like a Nikon flash, rather than a screw on the mount. I had photographed this (and the old version) with 5 flashes, 3 of which were used in the old 622n and 2 in the 622n II. They were configured with 3 groups, HSS, Ittl. At 100 feet from the camera to the flash, the flashes were behind a rock andโ€ฆ

TX controller) allowing me to control 4 flashes in total. There's really no noticeable difference between the Model II and the original 622 other than the ease of updating the firmware. I recommend downloading the firmware update as it works better with the update. So if you have a choice, get the Model II for the upgradeability. In general, the devices work well and are easy to set up, with each flash controlled by a separate group of controllers. I can adjust the light output of the SB700 and

Version II models offer no improvement over Version I

Version II triggers have been touted as *finally* implementing TTL Flash Value Lock, which lets you meter the scene and then the flash can lock settings for all subsequent shots, regardless of where the metering point is pointing, until flash power lock is disabled in the camera (simply set as a function key on Nikon cameras). This was supposed to work in Model I devices, but it didn't. Version II was supposed to fix this, but it didn't. Without fixing this feature, Version II devices are noโ€ฆ

  • Great for a small home
Cons
  • Questionable purchase for the elderly

A few years later: reviewing my experience

I bought this set a few years ago along with the YN622N-TX transmitter for my Nikon system. I've used it with various Nikon flashes including the 800s, 700s, 900s and Yongnuo flashes. I've had enough time to test it both in the field for paid work and in the studio. Here's my experience: Durability: These little plastic cases have proven to last. I regularly drop them at the bottom of my bags and they get scratched and worn but never stop working. Buttons, battery cover, shoe mount - everything

Pros
  • Best in niche

  • I will add later
