Review on πŸ“Έ YONGNUO YN622N II Wireless TTL Flash Trigger with High-Speed Sync HSS 1/8000s for Nikon Cameras by Stephen Hobbs

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Need a trigger, this is for you.

This is great. There is both an old version and this new version. They both work the same way, but they like the recessed buttons, and attachment to the flash mounts is done with a quick release like a Nikon flash, rather than a screw on the mount. I had photographed this (and the old version) with 5 flashes, 3 of which were used in the old 622n and 2 in the 622n II. They were configured with 3 groups, HSS, Ittl. At 100 feet from the camera to the flash, the flashes were behind a rock and behind the subject. Everything worked correctly with no false/missing positives. They fired (1) SB800, (2) Shanny SN600SN and Yongnuo (2) YN568EX. The main controller was YN622N-TX. Need a remote shutter release? These are for sale. You can also use the 622n to remotely trigger the camera with the 622n-TX. costs $40 for triggers. Even though there are flashes with built in radio and they add another connection point, I won't upgrade to more expensive and less functional (interchangeable) flashes.

Pros
  • High marks for grip and durability from testers
Cons
  • Not as thick as other options
